About Us

Founded by Terry and Caroline (Allen) Boardman, Anchor Renovations blends Caroline's design expertise with Terry's diverse, hands on craftsmanship to deliver beautifully executed projects from start to finish.

For over 25 years, Terry and Caroline have worked together to design and renovate homes - restoring historic properties to their original charm and improving everyday spaces for better comfort and function. Their projects reflect a commitment to craftsmanship, problem-solving, and doing the job the right way.

From historic homes in Rhode Island and Maine to mountain homes in North Carolina and Vermont they bring creativity, and skill to every project. For the past 15 years, they've proudly brought that expertise to homes throughout Louisville. They currently live in a house they renovated in Pewee Valley with their two children.

Terry Boardman

Terry Boardman, came from three generations of renovators in Rhode Island and began in the industry at an early age. He honed his skills working on historic homes throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts, learning how to repair and preserve old structures with care.

While studying Environmental Science, he met his wife Caroline from Anchorage, KY, who was a design student in North Carolina. He took time off school while she finished her degree and worked as a roofer and framer, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

After they graduated, he attended law and graduate schools in Rhode Island, where they bought, lived in, and completely renovated a 1920s house, earning praise from the entire neighborhood. That experience showed them how well they worked together as a design and build team and motivated them to continue that kind of work.

After graduating, they moved to Caroline's hometown of Anchorage, KY, and began taking on local projects. That work grew into what is now Anchor Renovations.
