After replacing the rotten sills and jambs, we stripped away the old paint and thoroughly sanded the surface. With homes of this age, the original paint is almost always oil-based, so its essential to prie with oil an oil primer-our go to is Ben Moore's Fresh Start-before finishing with two coats of Ben Moore's Aura Acrylic.

 

We also installed a copper gutter and downspout to adress the root cause of the wood rot and tie in beautifully with the existing copper bay roof. It was a fun job and a true honor to work on this historic Anchorage home.
